Kid Friendly Coffee Table
I love organizing and creating enviornments that are not only functional but also kid friendly.
I recently organized our living room to accommodate and be more functional for children.
I find the central focus of a living space is often the coffee table, this is where the magic happens; art is created, games are played, books are gathered.
Why not create a beautiful space that is functional, cozy and kid friendly.
I felt this room needed a little extra seating. Seating that was child sized.
I purchased two crates and painted them. I purchased two placemats and turned them into seat cushions.
I will be blogging about this project in a seperate post.
Otherwise I just gathered items that I already had from around the house.
Many of the items I found at thrift stores or hand made them.
The table can quickly become a coloring station. I would leave the messy art projects for the kitchen table, like glue and paint.
Crayons are sorted and placed atop a lazy susan for easy access from both sides of the table.
The kids favorite games can be played. There is plenty of storage in the baskets for smaller games, such as Go Fish, Old Maid, a deck of cards.
These colored pencils roll up for easy storage.
I find that when an item is displayed lovingly, set up as an object of inquiry, children are drawn to the item and it sparks creativity and interest.
Happy Organizing,
