Trick or Treat-Get Organized
Halloween Organizing Tips
If kids go out alone, have a way of connecting with them via phone.
Plan a route in advance and have kids return home at an agreed upon time.
Wear comfortable shoes.
Stay well-lit, wear glow sticks to help you stay more visible.
Make sure the kids have a sturdy bag to carry their candy. Pillow cases work well.
Make sure there are no tripping hazards and that your child has good visibility.
Check your child's candy when they return home.
Do not buy your candy more than a few days ahead of time. I find If I buy to far out, I eat it or the kids do.
My brother and I circa 1974. Getting creative with what we had laying around the house. A super hero and a hobo.
Adults If you find yourself kid less this Halloween you have a couple of options.
1. Stock up on your favorite wine, beer, tea or other drink of choice, lock the door, turn off all the porch lights. Make a nice dinner and hunker down, watch one of your favorite movies. Scary or not? I will leave that up to you.
2. Dress up and hand out candy.
3. Add an element of surprise to your Halloween decor. As the kids, and adults, approach your home scare them. Is it wrong of me to enjoy watching peoples reactions as they get scared? Don't worry it is nothing over the top. I won't go all Freddy Kruger on you. It is a simple prank. They do call it Trick-or Treat!
4. Have a bonfire and invite your neighbors over for pumpkin seeds, and hot apple cider.
