A definition of clutter!

It can be very freeing to purge. Within a month I have sold items in two different garage sales. The items that did not sell went directly to St. Vincent De Paul's.

It feels good to release and let go off possessions. There is more white space in the room with less.

White space is defined by Dictionary.com as........

noun

1.The unprinted area of a piece of printing, as of a poster or newspaper page, or of a portion of a piece of printing, as of an advertisement;blank space:

I like to think of the white space in a room being all of the empty or blank space surrounding our possessions. When there is more space and less stuff it frees our mind, it enables us to think a little clearer. We have less distractions holding us in bondage. We can find things quicker.

I find a sense of peace and calm with less.

Clutter is not just physical stuff, it is old ideas that no longer help us function in our environment, it is toxic relationships, relationships that we have with our stuff and the bad habits that we form in regards to maintaining our environment.

Make a Change!

A person can quickly become overwhelmed when to much change occurs at once. Just start with one new change and add another one after you have had some time to feel comfortable with the first.

Start with one room!

Sit for a while, observe what you like and what you don't like. Notice what there is a lot of and what might be missing. Take notes.

Observe your habits and what types of systems you have in place. Maybe it is time to develop a new system?

Work with what you have before purchasing anything new. You don't want to add to the clutter.

To many magazines? A great place to start!

It doesn't have to be perfect just functional for you.
